ABOUT THE ROLE Role Description: The Associate Software Engineer, MuleSoft is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and solutions on the MuleSoft Platform that meet business needs and ensuring the availability and performance of critical systems and applications. This role involves working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create high-quality, scalable solutions and automating operations, monitoring system health, and responding to incidents to minimize downtime. Roles & Responsibilities: Design, develop, and test APIs and integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform under the guidance of senior developers and architects Write clean, reusable, and scalable code in Python, Java, or other supported languages Use the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform for building APIs, integrations, and connecting enterprise systems Participate in configuration reviews, unit testing, and documentation Work with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and common integration patterns Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in integration flows and scripts Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other developers across the Platform team Follow secure development and deployment practices aligned with Amgen’s standards Provide ongoing support and maintenance for applications, ensuring that they operate smoothly and efficiently Basic Qualifications and Experience: Master's / Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 6 years of Computer Science, IT or related field experience Functional Skills: Must-Have Skills : Hands-on development experience with Python, Java, or similar languages Understanding and application of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, and XML Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Willingness to learn MuleSoft and enterprise integration technologies Good-to-Have Skills: Exposure to or basic understanding of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform or similar integration tools Experience with Java, SQL Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) or container technologies (Docker) Participation in academic or personal integration/API projects Professional Certifications (please mention if the certification is preferred or mandatory for the role): MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (preferred) Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams High degree of initiative and self-motivation Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals Strong presentation and public speaking skills EQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT Amgen is an Equal Opportunity employer and will consider you without regard to your race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.
