Amazon Leo is Amazon's initiative to launch a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. The Commerce team plays a crucial role in developing and managing the systems that will enable customer acquisition, billing, and overall business operations for this service.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Software Development Manager to lead and be part of our Amazon Leo Commerce team in India. This role will be instrumental in establishing and growing our presence in the region, while developing critical commerce systems for Amazon Leo's global operations.

Export Control Requirement: This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations

Key job responsibilities • Work with our peer teams and customers to design suitable software systems and interfaces. • Develop a strategic plan for the growth of the team, both from a software services and organization perspective. • Hire & Develop a diverse team of software engineers. • Aid in the design of mission critical systems in Amazon Leo. • Collaborate with your fellow team members to form a strong foundation for a software organization in Amazon Leo • Help on-board and mentor new team members.

About the team

Amazon Leo Commerce team owns developing the architecture, solutions & roadmap for managing the customer lifecycle for telecom services; for example, identity and account management, subscriber management services, user provisioning, billing and payments, customer and technical support tools, offer management tools, and customer metrics and analytics.
