Must have skills : AWS Storage Database Good to have skills : Apache Administration, Apache Airflow Minimum 3 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: As a Custom Software Engineering Lead, a typical day involves steering the technical vision and architectural framework for bespoke software projects. This role requires guiding teams through the entire lifecycle of software development, from initial design concepts to final delivery. The position demands a focus on establishing and maintaining high standards for development practices, ensuring that solutions are scalable, performant, and aligned with the strategic goals of the organization. Collaboration with various stakeholders to synchronize technical efforts and business needs is a key aspect of daily activities. Roles & Responsibilities: Lead the design, provisioning, and management of cloud storage solutions including AWS S3, EBS, EFS, FSx, and Storage Gateway. Evaluate and manage third-party or VM-based storage platforms (e.g., NetApp, Pure Storage, vSAN) where applicable. Design and maintain data pipeline scheduling architectures using Apache Airflow or equivalent tools (Prefect, Dagster, AWS Step Functions). Oversee Airflow DAG development standards, environment management, and operational health. Ensure data storage security, encryption at rest and in transit, lifecycle policies, and access controls. Lead a team of engineers, establish standards, and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with data engineering, DevOps, and architecture teams on storage and pipeline requirements. Conduct capacity planning, storage cost optimisation, and performance benchmarking. Implement backup, disaster recovery, and archival strategies for cloud storage. Produce operational runbooks, architecture diagrams, and documentation Professional & Technical Skills: Deep expertise in AWS storage services: S3 (policies, lifecycle, versioning, replication), EBS, EFS, FSx, and Storage Gateway. Hands-on experience with workload scheduling tools, with strong expertise in Apache Airflow (DAG authoring, Airflow administration, scaling). Understanding of data governance, encryption standards, and storage compliance requirements. Strong scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation and DAG development.
