Your role and responsibilities As Senior Electrical Project Engineer you will have the opportunity to design and develop electrical specifications for custom Baldor/Reliance NEMA motors across four global manufacturing plants. As design authority for the electrical engineering discipline, you will manage multiple projects, deliver advanced electrical specifications and analysis, and ensure compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the NEMA Baldor/Reliance Custom Motor Design Engineering Team} in Tlajomulco de Zuñiga, Jalisco. Main stakeholders are Product Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sales. You will be mainly accountable for: Design and specify electrical components for custom NEMA motors with complete winding designs, technical specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOM) Apply engineering principles and sound judgment to optimize motor performance, reliability, and manufacturability Perform engineering calculations including performance analysis, thermal considerations, and regulatory compliance verification Develop winding designs and electrical specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, and construction Create detailed electrical designs and specifications meeting Customer Order requirements and Industry Standards Ensure all designs incorporate safety, regulatory, and industry compliance standards Participate in design reviews, design verification, and modifications as necessary Maintain quality of BOMs, drawings, and motor technical data to support manufacturing across four plants Initiate Technical Data Releases when permitted changes are made to existing designs, drawings, customer data, or software Evaluate Test Data and Motor Performance against Customer Requirements and issue Test Reports as needed Coordinate with Manufacturing and Testing functions to ensure designs are appropriately manufactured, tested, and commissioned Update engineering deliverables as-built and post-installation as applicable per contract requirements Manage workload distribution and order flow to ensure on-time delivery of design solutions Support cost reduction and product improvement initiatives Provide technical support to Product Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sales teams Learn from experienced engineers and contribute to continuous process improvement Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master's preferred) 8–10+ years in motor design, electrical design, or related equipment design Working knowledge of UL, CSA, CE, IEEE, IEC, NEMA regulatory compliance Ability to perform design verification using calculations, simulations, and engineering standards Strong problem-solving, communication, and writing skills Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple manufacturing sites English language proficiency Preferred Qualifications such as: Experience with custom motor design or industrial electric motor applications, advanced electrical analysis tools (FEA, electromagnetic analysis software), familiarity with SAP and motor design software Benefits We also offer our employees the following benefits: Performance Bonus Saving fund Paid parental leave Life insurance Retirement plan Health and dental insurance Wellbeing program Flex days Employee Assistance Program (PAE) Access to development platforms: Spark, Harvard Manager Mentor and English Learning EF English Live School (EF) We empower you to take the lead, share bold ideas, and shape real outcomes.
